Corporate Law
Company law is a branch of law that falls within the scope of commercial law and includes norms on issues such as the establishment, merger, division, transfer and liquidation of commercial companies and examines the legal relations related to commercial companies.
Corporate law is a branch of commercial law, and its fundamental basis is the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102 of 2011, which is an integral part of the Civil Code No. 4721 of 2001. Trade serves as a bridge between production and consumption. Considering that economic activities encompass numerous elements such as production, exchange, consumption, and distribution, it can be seen that they have a broader scope than commercial activities.
Because corporate law falls under the scope of commercial law, related cases fall under the jurisdiction of the Commercial Courts of First Instance. Other branches of law, such as commercial enterprise law, corporate law, negotiable instruments law, transportation law, capital markets law, maritime law, intellectual property law, insurance law, and competition law, also fall under the scope of commercial law.
